Three texas natives that handle heat and drought very well are the texas rangers, Texas Olive, and Yucca Rostrata. Pic has the yucca with white flowered Texas Olive behind it.

Which direction does your house face? If W or S, oleanders would do well there. They come in all sizes, including a dwarf that only gets about 4-5' tall. The pink dwarf would go well with your crepe myrtle tree. But I would "frame" the house by putting a tall plant on the left corner where the ground appears to slope away, and putting a different, smaller bush on the right side of the window, rather than two identical bushes (since they will not stay identical anyway, one will always grow faster than the other). If your house faces N or E, there are many different drought tolerant shrubs and trees that you could use, depending on your climate zone. For example, if you live in zone 9 or higher, you could have bird of paradise (Strelitzia) with its exotic tropical looks. A call to your local county extension center can get you some good free advice on what to plant for easy maintenance.

@ Shiela Rowan thank you! The house faces south and I’m in Zone 8 (north Texas). There is actually a crepe Myrtle on the left side of the house - it’s just not pictured. Would you still do what you suggested?

Yes I would still use dwarf oleander. There is a pink one with a yellow center that would complement your brick; it's called dwarf salmon.
