Need to Find a Complimentary Lamp

I bought a single lamp and need to find another, different but complimentary lamp for my living room. They will be far apart. This one is large and chunky (18” wide, 22” tall). The room is very large, so it can handle another large lamps. Couch is dark gray, rug has white, silver, blue. Suggestions welcome!

Why not just get another? Unless you show the room and reason? We are not visionaries.

Shows yours in stock, despite it is a discontinued Curry Lamp

I got the lamp from Homegoods for 1/5 of the price and don't have it in my budget to drop $500 on a lamp. I didn't post photos of my room because I have small children and it's early on a Sunday so it's a wreck. I didn't imply that you are all visionaries. But since you seem incensed by my post, I'll apologize.

Have you called other nearby Home Goods stores? Try looking at the local TJ Maxx which is owned by the same company as Home Goods. They may have a matching lamp. If not, keep looking every couple weeks for another great bargain.

Indeed, I’ve called 6 home goods. I’ll try TJ maxx too but it was on clearance so I do not have high hopes.

Nobody is "incensed". but you are asking those who have NO idea what your space looks like , to select you a lamp. Why?

Get on the internet, read the dimensions. Try Wayfair. Frankly, what we are seeing isn't just a Sunday morning mess - it took a bit of work/play: ) to get that way.

    here you go....Wayfair, easy peasy

Thank you for the judgement. That’s exactly what I was looking for when I asked for some design advice. And wow, never thought to google! Yes, having a full time job and 2 and 4 year old does involve a lot of play and little time for cleaning. I thought Houzz was a friendly place to ask for interior design feedback. I provided a lamp and asked for suggestions of one that would complement that specific lamp. Apologies if I broke some unspoken Houzz post rule.

Thanks for the Wayfair suggestion. Respectfully, please stop responding to my post and enjoy your perfectly clean life and living room.

Always good to find a good deal, but I think that lamp is too chunky and short for your space. The room can handle much taller lamps that will be better scaled to the overall height of the room.

Chicspa, I was wondering about the height too. Thank you for your advice.

If it helps, my daughter bought a lovely lamp at HomeSense at a great price and then regretted not buying two. We found another one at another location but since yours was on clearance, the odds are slim.

Hard to recommend a specific lamp, size/style/budget wise, but suggest not trying to match too closely. Mixing actually is a more interesting look and you can easily change the shade to create a connection.

This one is 21” high so close. The width is not as important as height.

    I love that thank you!

    Good suggestion from Maureen.

Just thinking you might check Marshall’s which is also owned by TJ Maxx Corp.

Erin, Take into consideration the table the lamp will be sitting on. In my mind, the lamps should be the same height as you look at them, not necessarily the same height in terms of objective measurement. In other words, if you have a slightly taller lamp, put it on the lower table or the shorter lamp on the higher table. Make sense? I think the biggest consideration is that the styles, for example, the “chunkiness,” of the lamps go well together. The new lamp looks very nice with your sectional.

There's an optimum height for an end table and table lamp when combined. IMO your lamp is too short for the space.

I would move your existing table lamp to the square end table where it fits better and replace the lighting over the tall skinny end table with a modest floor lamp that extends over the top of the end table.

Also once the light is turned on the yellow color of your existing lamp shade is distracting. A warm glow could work but that yellow is terrible. I don't know if it's the light bulb, and old discolored shade or the color of the fabric but it needs to be fixed.

Table lamps shades should not be severely golden, yellow when illuminated.
