I have a Whitehaus fireclay sink and I love it. I have teh stainless steel grid that spans the entire bottom, so I don't have problems with chipping and such that other report.

While this is partly a question about function, it also matters which one will look best in your kitchen. What are the cabinets and countertops going to be? Have you chosen a faucet?

IMO a no brainer stainless every time is every kitchen even a colored sink should never be white and I hate the grids in the bottom of asink they get gross everything that goes down the drain or disposal passes that grid .

I've had a white Swanstone sink for 23 years. Never regretted it.

I have white Corian. It stains.

Corian does not stain. It gets small scratches that trap contamination. When you abrade away the scratches, the "stains" disappear and with the proper finish and care are very slow to return.

Both options have their merits! Stainless steel is definitely the workhorse it's super durable, resists staining, and is great for busy kitchens. But with your Taj Mahal countertops, gold/brass faucet, and walnut + cream cabinetry, I actually think a white or light-toned sink could be stunning and elevate the entire look.

So, if you love the look go for it! Just choose a material that balances style with durability.

I also usually lean toward stainless steel, but this is a home we did where both the client and we very much preferred a seamless look on the kitchen island. We loved how it turned out in the end.
