Travertine tile has miniature forests growing in holes

We have travertine tile on our backyard hot tub. Tiny forests grow in the holes of the travertine stone. We know that we can rid of those miniature forests with something like vinegar and water, but are looking for a recommendation on how to fill the holes without ruining the appearance of the natural travertine. Thank you.

Go to your local supplier of masonry products and ask them what to fill the travertine with. Then power wash, fill and seal as suggested.

FWIW, not every landscaping project is DIY'd successfully. You may be best served by hiring a professional.

If that is real travertine, do not use vinegar on it.

Natural stone products are usually filled and honed/polished when the material is still a slab and then cut into pavers.

Depending on where you live, any surface fillers will probably fail if exposed to freeze/thaw cycles. Then you'll have an even bigger mess.

I would talk to a professional before I started applying any diy fillers ...

I recommend periodic cleaning with a brush and water.

Un polished, unsealed Travertine is often used in wet areas for non slip.

Vinegar will dissolve travertine.

Polishing and sealing will reduce/eliminate the non-slip qualities.
