Paint color to go with brown carpet?

Hi all! I’m having a difficult time finding a good paint color to go with brown carpet. It will be in the stairwell and a long skinny hallway upstairs, with no natural light, and possibly a door and trim color.

Currently, the bottom half of the wall is pure white and it is way too white and cold looking with the carpet. The upper wall is SW Alabaster, which we love, but would be willing to change.

I was going to use BM Revere Pewter, as SW colors tend to look pink or purple in our house, but I think something with color might look better.

Any ideas how to make this carpet look less outdated with paint? Or maybe, make paint look less outdated next to the carpet?

Revere Pewter is too gray. I understand wanting to go a bit darker to add some interest.

If you like the Alabaster and already know what it looks like in your house, then I would stick with that.

I do like the Alabaster for the upper color and main house, but for this particular area I’d like to add a second color.

I do have a sample of Edgecomb. I think I’ll try it. We put accessible beige up and it looked terrible. I was hoping someone would have a non-beige, non-gray suggestion

The only pure white is see is the stair railing and spindles the wall looks the same all over on my monitor I think trying too have too many colors will make the staicase look even narrower that it is already Maybbe a wallpper on the top part with some sort of outside view would be something to make you eye feel like the staircase is wider.2 very different ideas but you get the drift

Yes, thank you! The bottom part of the wall is pure white, as well as the stair rails. It looks really bad with the carpet, in person. But wallpaper is a good idea
