Louisiana had a century record 10 F this year. From my research, that's the rock bottom of survivability for textilis. These are 40' tall. Not one leaf anywhere. Some canes are green, some yellow green, some dead. One question, though I think I know the answer.... and it makes me very sad.

Will the live canes grow new leaves along the cane - or will all new growth come only from the base?
