Strawberry planting, prevent insects, birds? Tomatoes,

last year

I have 3 ground garden beds. I usually plant cucumbers, tomatoes, garlic, basil, zucchini. I want to try strawberries and see Burpee carries alot of types and was looking for highest yield and should a net go over the plant to prevent birds, insects or any organic way to prevent plant from disease.

Burpee carries sown ready seeds which is new for tomatoes what organic way do you recommend to prevent blight, rot etc. I have had good success last year with tomato plants by using nothing but looking for preventive maintenance.
