Current 4K tvs have greatly reduced the viewing distance. 6-8" minimum for a 77". A much larger tv is one solution mounted lower with a minimal or no console.

I’m not sure how minimal you want to keep things, but think art would be nice on that wall. Your TV/console set-up is similar to mine and I have art on the sides and above the TV.

I’m not suggesting this specific art, or these sizes, only showing for placement examples:

For the console top, maybe you could find a pretty bowl to put on one side. I’d keep it simple.

Unasked for advice:

I’d move the chair and lamp back towards the window a bit and either find a small table for it or move your plant over there. It could be a cozy little spot and if you needed the chair for company/conversation, it could be moved forward temporarily.

I’d consider candlesticks for your mantle. Two on one side, one on the other.

Pillows with a soft pattern would add more interest, too. Maybe a small one for the chair, and a couple on your sofa. A blockprint would be lovely.

These are all just general suggestions, you might find some unique or vintage things locally or online that fit what style you want.

Are you planning to get a coffee table or ottoman?

I like what jilly did above with two vertical prints. The one over the tv - not so much.

If you don’t want to hang prints, you could instead find something tall-ish to set on the floor, left side of the tv, which would balance the floor lamp on the right.

Thanks! It helps to see some art placement around the tv. I appreciate the additional advice as well. I've thought about candles for the mantle place, but I wasn't sure if black or brass would be better. The room definitely needs a coffee table and I'm also on the hunt for new sofas, but haven't found the right ones yet.

I meant to add in my earlier post — to get a feel for art on the TV wall, you could tape up (painter’s tape) pieces of paper or cardboard in various sizes and positions.
