Ideas for this space

Hello, I’m trying to get ideas for my living room wall. It’s a large room with high ceilings and I want to dress it up without over doing it.

I can’t really see all that much. But I’d start with removing the mirror.

Then we need to create a good furniture layout (will need more photos of the space and the furniture we’re working with)

I’d also replace the ceiling fan with a nice light fixture

Please show pics of the entire room - all walls. You have way too much stuff in that tv area.

I do not like art on a TV wall but I do like the BEsta Ikea idea for TV walls where you have the TV some storage an d a bit of display and your art hung on another couple of walls . Yes e need to see the whole space . IMO you are in desperate need of storge and a good declutter too. This is one idea from Besta but the bonus is you put the pieces together to fit your stuff . We collect art and I often decorate my space for the art so I like each piece to stand alone and for sure never on a TV wall.

I think you need a long, low cabinet across that wall so the screen doesn't dominate everything as it does now. Move the too faraway chair and chaise lounge into the room so they connect with the other furniture.

Then add two long vertical pieces on each side as below--no mirror. Or leave current art works on the side as you have it, but hang a single vertical art work on the other side of the TV.

I said this recently that life is lived in a space at ground level regardless of how high ceilings are. So decor should be at sitting or standing eye levels to enjoy art work, TV, etc.

ONe of those nice pieces of art could replace that clock which IMO should never have beem decor and now totally not as we all know what time it is 24/7

@patriciacolwell. Totally agree that the big clock has to go. A living room is for relaxation, not counting minutes. I wish this fad would go away. This dramatic room is large enough for multiple art works. If OP is just starting out,

I sometimes recommend society6.com as a source for unique art. A huge number of talented Individual artists submit their own designs, which are reproduced in art prints and decor items. The range of styles and sizes at great prices make it possible for first time art buyers to get "almost"original art in their homes as they cultivate their own personal tastes and look for completely original art down the road. This is different than buying from home goods stores where every branch carries identical reproductions. society6 has a much larger selection, and the mix-and-match possibilities are endless. The prices are unbeatable. So that's my cheerleading for this art source for today.
