Trying to decide between 33in farmhouse and 36in- worried about scale

Can you please post a picture of your sink wall and call out what size sink you ordered?

We are looking at Lancaster Shaw in 33in and 36in and the sink will be centered over 3windows

Really you do the size you need for how you use the sink If you want help for scale lets see your plan. I dislike farmhouse style sinks so can 't help with the style I would never do a white sink anywhere and fireclay always screams to me onwe cast iron dropped goodbye sink. If you post your plan you will get more help but the size of the sink cabinet is usally what drives the size of sink I do not think 3" will have abig effect visually under 3 windows

Will upload plan! We planned for 33in but designer made error and planned for 36in is willing to edit it for us- trying to determine if we edit or order

I like my Julien 30" sink with 18" integrated drainboard. The DW sits below the drainboard, so no need for a huge sink cabinet.

    @patricia here is the plan!

33" is more in scale with your kitchen cabinets and windows. However, I doubt in the end anyone is going to look at it and think - this sink should have been 3" shorter. And maybe you want it larger so it feels like a shazam focal point. After all, it is a farmhouse sink, which is very much of a wow choice that is not meant to blend in.

We actually feel like we still want the 33in we always wanted - my husband is worried the 36 will feel like a bathtub in our space haha but I’m nervous to rework the wall

Sink cabinets tend to be inefficient storage space, so I would rather have a slightly smaller sink and more space in the drawers on each side.

Your plans are too small for me to read dimensions, but a few things do jump out at me: the pullouts on each side of the range, the size of the range, the upper cabinets to the counter, and the lack of drawers. The range size seems out of proportion to the size of the kitchen (though it's hard to tell without seeing an overhead view). There must be another wall somewhere; I don't see a fridge.

What do you plan to store in the pullouts by the range? Or did your kitchen designer just throw those in? The most important part of a kitchen design is the storage plan - a detailed analysis of what is going to go where. Some folks use those narrow pullouts for cooking oils or utensils stored upright, but neither of those would work for me.

Why so much empty space on the range wall? Aren't you going to have a hood? The cabinets to the counter take up valuable counter space, and are especially problematic if they are in a corner between sink and range.

We are doing a custom hood and have hutches and more storage space on the other walls of the plan! We also have a fridge wall - paneled, then pantry! We like the idea of oil pull outs but I do think we need 33in sink. We need 1oven and 1/2 so did 48in range which has been ordered so no way to go back there!

I would have done some more talking if you were my clients I like pullout pantry type lowers for oils and vinegar bottles that are awkward to store but not next to my range waht are the 2 cabinets on either side of the sink cabinet ? They should be drawers too. IMO with the giant range the sink could be bigger but just not farmhouse with that range which BTW is way too big for the space and where will all your pots and pans go ? This is a poorly designed kitchen and now it can't be helped so IMO do a big sink whatever style I guess you love and move on . Any cabinets that sit on a counter are just not good . I have to stop now .

If it's not too late, it would be a really good idea to remove that corner cabinet that goes down to the counter. That is interrupting prime work space. I would remove both if it were my kitchen, but I do think that end-of-run cabinets like that can look very charming, especially with glass-front doors.

I installed a 48" range in my previous house and hated the ovens! The smaller oven was always too small for most things. When we built I went with a 36" Induction range and Miele CSO XXL wall oven (convection/steam).

In hindsight, for the way I cook/entertain, I should have gone with an Induction cook-top and 3 Miele CSO wall ovens!

I would get rid of those 9" pull-outs and go with 31" drawers stacks on both sides.

If your designer can put a pause on the order, if it were my kitchen I'd take that pause and: get the sink size I want, get all drawers on the lowers (except maybe a pullout for oils and a tall vertical for baking sheets if you don't already have a place for those), and skip the cabinets down to the counters to gain more counter space by the range.

No one has ever complained about a too-large sink. Get the 36" please.

    I like the red ones.
