how to attach loose stair nosing

How do I attach this loose stair nosing back? Should I use liquid nails or screw? I tried nails, but, after a couple of months, it dropped again. Thanks!

Eeeee-shiii, nobody tell enything from dat pitcha, you gonna have to do betta dan dat.

Titebond wood glue and "finish" screws. Finish screws have a head about the size of an 8 penny finish nail. You'll have to predrill the nosing.

Glue withouth a well-fitted, tight joint will just fail again; that joint looks terrible in the picture. I'd be tempted to cut the floor back to clean wood, run a new dado (or use Festool Dominos every 3-4 inches, make a new wider nose to make up for the lost floor material, then glue it into place using a few finishing nails as clamps.
