It looks quite strange to have your trim in the staircase area be inconsistent with the trim in other areas of the house that are included in the same view. Yes, make it the same throughout.

I concur with @Lyn Nielson that it would look best to have the trim and the call color the same. There are so many windows and so much trim. If you paint the trim white and walls grey, all you will see are a ton of white rectangles the same way you currently see a ton of wood rectangles. You want to see out the window, not take a highlighter to the frame around the window.

I actually like it, but painting it the wall color and the trim as the rest of the tim will make it nearly disappear.

OP is always going to have prominent rectangles from the inside, as the windows are bronze/black and she isn't painting that part.

I'd consider providing a dark backdrop for the sculptural staircase.

Beverly, Thanks so much for this! I love the top pic with the trim.. My dilemma is the rest of my trim is white. Could you do a pic with white trim and light pain almost matching (or matching)walls?? One friend told me to do the windows black.. which may look cool too.. Just not sure how to tie in wth rest of house. Funy cuz when i first moved in I wanted a grey blue...like the one u did

Why don't you try painting with one of the paint visualizers offered by the paint companies?

Do u have one to suggest ? I’ve tried a couple snd can’t get it as good as you did? Is this something u do professionally? That I could pay for?

I simply 'paint' using Microsoft Paint that is on any Windows computer.

I think a home looks most cohesive when the trim out is consistent through the entire home. Not so sure I agree with the white you have done. I love the staircase and that window trim.
