Cerused oak table with brown spots

last year

I recently purchased a dining table and was excited for its delivery. However, upon arrival, I noticed a distracting pattern on both ends of the tabletop—small brown spots that resemble drips from a brown ink pen. They don’t appear to be knots, and they don’t blend in with the wood grain.

I understand that oak naturally comes with unique characteristics such as knots and color variations, but these spots are very noticeable and take away from the beauty of the table. I’m disappointed, as this wasn’t something I expected from a p expected. I have several oak tables
from years ago an
d have not seen any
thing like this.
