last month

I'd like a second opinion on this dining room set up. Any thoughts or advice are welcome. Anything you love, hate or would change. Thank you!

Well now you have a clean slate! most tables are 30” in height so the cabinet you are saying is almost 32” in height? yes as long as it is not lower…check but I think the Nathan James have to be assembled? if you dont want to assemble than we need to keep shopping..what would your max budget be? I can look for a couple other options….. I saw your kitchen post! It is beautiful..did you try the baking soda and water mixure to clean your quartz I suggested? we have similar taste..my home is mostly a mix of neutrals, grays and black with a touch of warmth in my leather pieces.

They do have to be assembled but I don't mind. If I was going to buy anything I think my max would be around 1k, unless it was something I really loved I'd go up to 3k. Thank you on the kitchen! I am going to try the mixture today to see if it helps and I'll let you know. I noticed that too...you totally get me! If we were in the same area I'd be hiring you to come help me decorate my whole house!

RH has so many beautiful solid wood pieces you should look at…all under $2800 anywhere from 84” long to 96”…… 32”-35” tall if you become a member you get a big discount! I think is around $100 for the year…so worth it!

Those are all great options! I will check it out. I think a piece like that would be worth the investment.

I like ordering from local furniture stores rather than online for a higher quality cabinet..you get local delivery they bring it in the room for you and it can be returned easily you have 30 days with RH…can be returned or exchanged….I have several pieces from them and love the quality..I have had them return to touch up items even after 3 years…

Check out places like TARGET where you can put three cabinets together to form a sideboard or

two cabinets like this to form a long sideboard at a reasonable price.

    ^^

I've NEVER had a problem with Four Hands anything, cocktail to cabinet etc

I've had multiples with RH: ( WAH

I know HIWE loves RH :) and I will spare everyone.

Nothing you'd want to pay for is 100 USA made, (Unless a custom Room and Board but pricey and maybe a tad too mid cen. Anything out of N.C is double to triple!! the price. Hickory Chair, Hickory White, ..

I think at these dimensions? Pretty darn great statement and a ton of storage 36 h x 106 l and not crowding at 19" deep.

They DO white glove delivery RIGHT TO the spot in your home

I really like the color RH offers it is very similar to the cane back of your chairs…if you stop in the RH showroom most likely you could see one of them in person and get wood sample too.

I could be insane......I seen NO tone issues, and more than that? A buffet will outlast Twofer price Costco rubber wood assembly required chairs by quite a while. ( sorry I don't give those years. They will loosen like crazy, until they can't be further tightened up.)

At any rate? I don't think an exact match is necessary when you can have the height and other great dimensions. Jmo! (more room for lamps and art as well

I like your buffet. Any chance the buffet could be ”extended” visually by adding planters and sconces on each side?

Not liking the art at all. You can do much better for that spot.

Another option . . . buy used. You can find beautiful, well made pieces by haunting estate sales, resales shops, antiques stores, Facebook Marketplace, etc. You can often wind up with a better quality piece at a lower price, and in ten years your home won't look just like it was furnished in the year 2025. Embrace the thrill of the hunt!

Good Morning…..found the prints on Amazon…you would buy the 11x14 print and than have it framed with large matt and black frame...I also found the second picture on Ebay much larger and can be ordered on canvas with black frame.

These are in my foyer…purchased the canvas printed from Etsy…and had them framed..you order the canvas as you see it with big solid canvas around the print..so just need frame..love this Etsy site…Heirloomprintshop

Thank you so much for sharing! I love how they look in your home and will do some measuring on my wall space to see where these could live 😍 I also love that cognac leather chair you have too!
I only have one piece of art on my first floor and it's above my fireplace mantle right now. I'd like to get two story curtains to flank the fireplace (I think) but haven't gotten that far yet.

Beautiful Fireplace…so are you drawn to abstract art? more modern? We love our cognac leather chair..it actually is a power recliner! so darn comfortable…we have mixed it with blacks..grays and neutrals.

My whole house was previously all modern abstract art; but I like landscape art and am looking to change it up in this home. This was just one piece I really liked and it was a little difficult to find something on such a large scale.

Got it! it does seem a bit dark for the fireplace…you have high ceilings so it really could be used on a large wall..maybe with a console under it..with the lighter wall behind it…is there a chandelier in this room?

Agreed on it could be too dark - when it's day time and the windows are open it isn't as dark. But, I figured I could always put it somewhere else. Yes, I have a 2 tier 54 light chandelier in the room. I have 2 toddlers so it's hard keeping things clean around here enough where I feel comfortable to share a photo 😂🫣

Why I asked about chandelier is a mirror over mantle would reflect the chandy so beautifully..something to think about..I have a big round mirror over my mantle and it reflects my ceiling beams and lighting..I love it.

Sorry.........the Pier One do not work well above the fire they overwhelm it , more than a bit . I thought it was a panel detail someone got carried away with?

All it needs is art...Or a mirror when you check what gets reflected: )

Hiwe, I absolutely love your fireplace mantel decor with your mirror! But I was actually referring to eyeforstyle22 art piece above her fireplace.

    Eyeforstyle22 how are things going?

Kind of at a stand still due to a sickness spreading around our house. I did get those head chairs though. What do you think?
I'm Still waiting for VCF to pick up the server and art next week. I think I might get a different rug now.
I'm still trying to decide on what route to go with the server. I'm not sure I'll like that light wood and black forever, but I like it right now so I'm leaning towards buying a less expensive server and get a better piece when I redecorate in 10-15 years when my kids are older. I'm worried that Nathan James accent cabinet will be too low. I wish it was 2 inches taller.

Do you need a buffet? the room would look so beautiful without one…just add art and maybe some sconces..change out the rug…lots of room when entertaining.

    No buffet

so sorry to hear about being sick! I like the head chairs..do they fit move in and out freely?

Yes they do move in and out freely. I guess I have them pulled out a bit in the pic so it's hard to tell. I suppose we don't need a buffet, I just thought it might come in handy but not necessary. After they come get the buffet out of here I can have a better idea of what the room would be like without it. The wall just seems so long it feels so empty right now. But that could also have something to do with there being nothing on the walls 😆

  • PRO

I think you might really like the clean open feel….no worries once you get new art on the wall it will look beautiful.

I think the frames tree prints would look lovely in the dining room. Maybe that will be my next thing to order! I have 58" from top to bottom of wall hanging space in the dining room. What do you think is the biggest size I could order without overwhelming the space? 36" tall? Also curious if the should not be longer than the dining room table (96" long)?

I really like that floral rug!
