The room is not done yet. Sorry if it sounded as if. It has not been painted no furniture new fixture not up yet. I wanted to get this ceiling fixture before my handyman is finished so he can install it. Was hoping the description would help.

I don't love that light fixture. It makes me think of the early 2000's Tuscan phase. Also, it looks tall. How high are the ceilings? You might need to be looking at semi-flush fixtures.

I was reading that the diameter of a light fixture should be the length plus the width of the room not sure if that's true if so I would need something 22 in diameter My ceilings are 8.5 ft. I don't want to go too modern due to the style of the house.. flush is ok semi flush is a good idea.

Keep the fan. A fan makes a room much more comfortable. Don't use a flushmount -- they perform worse than downrod fans -- unless the fan would hang less than 7' above the floor. There are plenty of other ways to light a room but only one way to hang a ceiling fan.
