The counter top color doesn't work with the walls or the vanity wood.

Just chaning the color of the top changes everything in the room.

If it stays the appearance could be improved by darkening the wood stain on the vanity, however your countertop leans red.

The sink is too small for this size room/top Here are options for vessel sinks.

I would have selected a simpler light for the room.

Thank you both. I agree the countertops aren’t ideal. I’m not sure however how quickly I’ll change them out. Definitely need a bigger sink.

It’s a powder room - glam it up a bit. Remove those rolls of ?? on top. Where’s soap? Get a very glitzy dispenser. Since there’s so much counter space, add something for interest. The white orchid Beverly shows you is nice but I’d go larger & glitzier. How about art on the wall above toilet? Is that a trash can on lower shelf? Get a pretty one. Maybe add a pretty tray with paper hand towels for counter.

Beverly is right - as always - about the counter color, sink size, and lighting. But, I hear you on not wanting to make major changes and wanting to try styling instead.

Make the room darker and more masculine and then your light wood and light grey sink will feel like an intentional contrast. Right now you have too many competing light, dark, mid-tone, airy baskets, airy light, white vessel. Lean into dark so the room is 70% dark, 30% light.

1. Paint the white brick wall, door time, and baseboards the same grey-black as the background of your wallpaper. (I'd paint the ceiling grey-black too.)

2. Bring in walnut. A large tray on the sink top will interrupt the grey counter- easier than getting a new counter!

($250 walnut wastebasket anyone????)

3. Get black sink top accessories.

4. Go a bit darker and more masculine for your storage baskets.

5. The light fixture has got to go. Something walnut nut and black instead.

I’d invest in a larger/unique sink.

Then just accessorize shelf and surface.
