I bet it's vulnerable to DED....

I've only seen one specimen locally about 8 years back in the height of the Japanese beetle surge. This tree was dripping with them.

I surmised it was hardiness issues, but maybe not. Pennlake, would you plant one if you found it locally at a reasonable price?

Not sure. I haven't viewed it since, but for the fondness of the JBs for it would deter me.
