You still need to upload a floor plan with dimensions for anyone to be able to help you on what size to get. But as for styling, I'm not liking the brass table with the rest of your furniture--painted wood and wicker don't go with sleek glass/brass.

I doubt it, unless you remove the wicker chair. I assume the math?

    52 inches MINUS 41 inches is 11"

Now? Divide by two.......6 1/2" if centered on sofa

Can the person who desires to sit at the radiator and that chair squeeze in there?

Answer? No. You'd have to pull the table away.

The chair does not belong in the space - and the "table' , at most should be a 24 to 30" diameter round table with no chair at the radiator. Even that might be a squeeze.

The room needs help. Too much small unrelated stuff. Corner shelf, shelf standing...wicker with.....: )

Draw the space, measure the space , upload the drawing.

It’s not only length that needs to be considered. The room is small, table should not impede movement, and its style doesn’t suit your room. Glass is a nuisance to keep clean (every little thing shows) and with the price, I’d worry about the glass not being heavy duty enough.

Look for something that better suits the room‘s style and size and I think a nesting table would be a good choice/can adjust the length to suit.

If interested, move plant to other corner, on small shelf just use a small plant, add chair where plant was (on an angle/pulled out a bit) and try book shelf under window.

How many sit in this space daily? I think you might no need a coffee table but we really needd to see the whole room and taht means the loveseat in the pics too. We have no idea of the size of the room or any other info. I do not think glass is hard to clean all tables need cleaning , I do think the nesting ones could be better .

Purchase a table that you can put your feet up on - not glass!

IMO the table you selected is so very wrong a selection for the room.

I think you should continue the rattan material in the room.

@Diana Bier I'm not able to do that:(

I think the bigger struggle for me is what style or color would compliment the space. I can figure out sizing if I know what style/color of table would be a great fit

    @JAN MOYER

Thank you so much! I'm not able to do the floor plan with measurements. I really appreciate the critique, I do need to be better with scale. My bigger struggle is actually a style or color of table that would work best. I can play around with the sizing.

You might search for a coffee table approximately 24"x36" in a country style. Light or painted wood, rattan or bamboo, could be distressed wood too. Straight legs, nothing fancy. Try Etsy, Ebay, Wayfair.

    some ideas:

You do not need to "do a floor plan"

    Fill this IN

You need a tape measure, metal,

Measure the walls, measure the window....How many feet and inches.

Surely, you can do that : )

To get comfortable tv watching I'd improve lounging with a large soft edged ottoman. It can hold a tray when using it partially as a table. From Ikea with added storage.

If you filled the whole space a family of four could hang out together for movies.

That was my first thought but I was worried it'll be too rattan-ish.

    Kenny?

Can you PLEEEZE just measure your room?

Want me to guess? It' 9 x 11?

Is the rug 6' x 9 as my broken line?

Want me to GUESS? I don't guess for clients. I measure..

Unless my "guesses" are off in a big way? Unless you want to Choke the total space for any cocktail size will be 18" x 36"

@ cube seats.....that can also be storage?

Two 18" diameter "poufs" in a color from the rug? A single18 x 36 storage bench?

    See why inches matter?

Do you see the relationship down here??

This is why we ask........WHAT SIZE is the darn room?

See what she did? Is my 9' x 11' right/wrong/different than YOUR room?

You need 15" of clearance between that love seat, and whatever shall sit in front of it. And you do not want it to appear to encroach on the tv console........leaving barely room to WALK.

"my bigger struggle is actually a style or color of table that would work best. What do you recommend?"

Your "bigger struggle" is you don't know, because you won't measure the space. You already asked about a wrong size table, did you not?

Mr. G - What is the height from the floor to the seat of your loveseat. You really don't want a table that is higher than that.

Coffee table should measure 2/3rds of sofa length..so around 32-36” add your table and you will have to move the wicker chair to the other side of the room if you have enough space…I think a small round table may be best for your room.

Ok, so this is a very small studio apartment. Get a small rectangular or oval wood table, no bigger than about 20x36. Nothing else will fit, unless you want to start all over with a lot less furniture. Perhaps a Murphy bed, a sofa bed, or replace the sofa with two club chairs and an ottoman. Don't worry about the plant, that's a nonissue.

    Here's what you COULD have!

    First?

It isn't a large enough space to be creating a walk through at foot of the bed. Snug the couch right to the end of the bed! If you are tall and feet hang over? Give the couch a push/put the feet on Eazy Movers!

Second. The plant is not too big , move it. Put a chair in front of it! You will see the GREEN.

    Third! Don't chop up the room with two rugs,Go online find a 9' x 12' ( the "room" is basically 13 ' x 16 '! )

You can have far better proportions. The bed, the love seat, the tv console are all within inches of one another, like a line up of fat train cars, Get a couch, 72 inches, 80 inches, even 84 as I have here in the picture!

TV's are dirt cheap these days. Get a 65" and raise it a bit so you can see over couch at night, from bed.

Your COFFEE table, most convenient and best size ? A sleek storage ottoman, with some leg on it.....padded, lift top, and 18 wide, 18 hi and 44 or 48 l.

    So...............

When we say show it all, measure it all? We MEAN it.: )

You looked at THEIR plan diagram and you followed it didn't you? :)

The diagonal lines I drew on my plan? Find a folding SCREEN!! Four parts, 18" w/72 h. you can attach to the bed head wall, and fold back at night .....visitors don't need a full view of the bed as they enter! Nor do you!

    One rug!!!! : ) 9 x 12....

@ Kenny G Those sectionals show the idea. You choose the pieces based on your space/family members. And the lesser idea is to use a large ottoman or two as a coffee table with a tray, as storage inside and you can lounge with it. It can be moved. A family and friends can hang out on their phones, laptops, reading or watching tv. That's the most important purpose for the space, for me.

The really good thing about 4K resolution on all current tv choices is the greatly reduced viewing distance suggested. An 85" 4K tv can now be 6-8 feet from the viewer. This can give you a pretty immersive theater-like experience with a couple speakers if you want. The form factor of the sectional 'pit' furniture arrangement in all but a large space leads to what can seem like a one-time purchase. . .unless you choose a manufacturer with different pieces to choose from and removable washable replaceable fabric. Like many things, you put in the research and you reap the benefits. The superficially attractive online pictures of products that end up being made in China make that very challenging. Sectionals are often given high prices not connected with quality.

The obsession with turning a couch to a bed? Dear lord please GO TO BED!

I had a client who insisted on a LoveSac.

Versatile! We can jiggle it! We can wash it, change it!

I did it....,: ( with the warnings)

Poor quality seat cushion construction can be an eyesore with a couch or loveseat or sectional. No difference. Pocketed coil spring seat cushions with latex foam outer layers and quality fabric is a construction that retains shape when not in use. There are other wraps like wool that can work. Poly foam works with pocketed springs but doesn't hold up like latex. It just gets more and more mushy over its ten year life. Some mostly older individuals prefer structured seating that positions them 'in a seat'. They would prefer a bed when supine. On their side, who knows. They bring a seat to the beach. Don't do picnics anymore without a table. Even for these individuals seating varies. The height and angle of a dining chair, level at 18". is different from a lounge chair with a 7-degree lower rear at less height. The depth of the seat cushion front to back also varies. Choose a sectional with a deep cushion for lounging.

Any seating can be firm, soft, or in between. Depth of seating, pitch, cushion to floor distances, all vary and it matters not chair, couch or sectional.

The destruction of any seat cushion is far more about the front edge of the seating piece directly below that cushion. When quality was common, and it NO longer is? The front edge of a couch had "give" . A firm press down , and an immediate bounce back. This is no longer the case even in higher end seating. It's the frame with zero give. No matter what the cushion fill may be- latex, foam spring down,......no matter " 8 way hand tie, no matter sinuous springs or another. No matter sustainable frames, hand dowel and blah blah

No cushion will last, support, retain a crown, as cushions once did. Not one.

The only thing that varies is the time it takes to ruin the cushion: ) based on frequency of use and those who sit.

Don't believe me? Ask an upholstery shop that has been in business for thirty years or more.

Hi Kenny G hope all is well..here is my two cents for your studio set up..I put in a 6x9 rug but if not wanting to change it I still think the 5x8 should work….I have all the info on products I posted.

  • yesterday

Polyurethane foam in a cushion deteriorates at a constant rate over a 10 year average life, giving less and less support. The construction of the couch body does not affect that deterioration. It could affect deterioration from different types of use. A pocketed spring cushion doesn't deteriorate at a constant rate on its own. It can take many more use cycles than a poly cushion. It doesn't need a suspension front edge construction to be a quality product. A product that will outlast a poly cushion couch. These are the different levels of quality available today to buy. When both options include a front edge without flex choose the spring cushion or latex at least, obviously. The Thomasville from yesteryear couch I'm on has pocketed spring seat cushions that have already seen many cycles of heavy use without deterioration. It springs back every time. The vintage Henredon couches I'm not on have a flex front and look perfect. The cushion fill needs to be replaced, too soft now.

    WELLLLLL Kenny hasn't returned : )

But. the last thing I'd do is carve that small studio up with two rugs, or one rug with no rug.

It's essentially a fairly small bedroom with a need to accommodate a "living room"......and a lot of ways to do it. Depending budget.

No matter what, that gap at foot of bed is doing nothing but eat available inches and even pushed back it's not spacious: )
