What paint color goes with Moss Green?

last month

I’m in love with a moss green kitchen, third pic is an inspo pic. First two pics is actual color. My dining area is like an eat in kitchen. The outside wall in my dining area extends into the living room without a doorway, just a half wall. So whatever color I paint this wall has to go into the living room as well. Dilemma is what color to paint this wall? Other idea is tooth a shade of taupe cabinets and paint the wall in question a shade of blue or green/blue. Currently all over the place LOL

    Pretty!! Love the inspiration.

Like your inspiration picture the paint matches the background of the roman shade. I can suggest you look for your inspiration piece may it be fabric, a painting or even wallpaper you love then pull the colours from there. You do not have to use the inspiration piece you just pull the colours from them making sure it has the green in it.

We need to see your space . Inspiration is just that not a fact and without seeing your space who knows . I actually dislke green but the green kitchens I see on Houzz are intriguing I must admit. I like the really deep green from Ikea too.

    Post YOUR kitchen all angles.

The color you are in love with, in one picture looks sage green , and in another looks gray.

Use jpegs, not screen shots. Load all angles of YOUR space that way: )

It might be my monitor, but it looks like a cooler grey lichen rather than a moss green :) Anywho, a darker and more verdant green like a moss would go well with the cabinets I think. A mellow dusty blue would complement the cabinets. A warm neutral cream-tan with some yellow undertones might make the cabinets green show more. You seem to have warm pale wood in your kitchen, so maybe pull from that for your paint color.

ETA: What is the name and maker of your current cabinet color? That could tell us more about it.

Photos look more gray than green.

FYI the inspo pic with the roman shade IMO in no way does it go with the counter .

Pretty pictures above but what's the answer to the question--what paint color goes with moss green cabinets? Until the OP shows the rest of the space, and picks an actual green color, it is unanswerable.

thats not moss.....I just weeded out some moss in my shady area.... you are showing a subdued gray green. Re taupe..its usually red undertones so how do you pick blue to go w taupe ?...or blue green for that matter. Taupe is complex..it plays along w whites and some creams for the most part. Are you having some cabinets painted? study colors a little more.

if the cabinets are receiving paint there is nothing wrong w a warm white or off white...then the walls or whatever coordination you will be working on will be straightforward and easy .

Where is the pics from your space and where is the moss green going to be in your kitchen. The inspo pic has issues right at the strat since all base cabinets should be drawers . Just because you like a color does not make it something you should do for really permanent items like cabinets unless that works with the rest of the main living space . The colors you show are none moss green BTW. We need a lot more info

Moss green, lichen green, sage green, taupe, these are not specific descriptions of colors. They mean different things to different people.

But I agree that we do need more info and photos in order to help. The OP seems to have other priorities at present. So let's wait until she returns and then continue the discussion.

So I started with the kitchen. But i think choosing Painted cabinets is making me stuck….if I do go with a shade a green, I was thinking of painting the wall opposite the cabinetry a sort of gold color as in this palette:

    @ LizT

    The cabinet color in question?

Your buggy is ahead of your horse. You are asking us a question, but you won't provide the context.

    You were asked......

"Show YOUR kitchen. show the area around the kitchen.

"The kitchen is being ripped out, replaced with new cabinetry........from......." ( above pic )

Would you like to know how many layout errors and improvement have been made on this site, when someone posts the kitchen they HAVE and the plan for the kitchen they are planning?

You could not begin to count them all.

Kitchen are Layout first, they are not paint, first.

You then get allllll Your finishes together, flooring, painted or stained cabinetry, what the counter top would be.....and make the harmony that suits you and your kitchen.

Layout includes the area around as well. Windows, walls openings.

Nothing lives in isolation, Your kitchen has rooms around it. You enter from somewhere, and when you are IN the kitchen you see something FROM that kitchen. Green or whatever.

Post YOURS in jpegs, all angles. Nobody wants to wade through a novel of text, and nobody can help you without more context.

Which includes your source in question........

    From your cabinet site

You are nowhere NEAR worrying on " the wall opposite"

Please just trust me on that?: )

seems there would be a kitchen designer assisting you with Showplace Cabinetry selection for your kitchen. they have tools to help with final finishes ...that has to do with counters/ backsplash/ flooring.....all of which is relative due to upgrades in lighting for a new kitchen. dont skimp on getting all the help from your designer....many revisions..getting sample doors.....making a visit and measuring everything...the best cabinet selections for good storage.....etc.....then Houzz is a great place to show the plan / what is changing....how it fits in to the residence....etc. its confusing as to where you are in the planning right now.
