Have you been to a plumbing showroom and seen them in person? Prices vary widely as does selections of matching accessories like towel bars, grab bars etc. I like moen brushed brass but even then it’s one of their most expensive finishes

I’ve read from several ASID decorators that your style of home should dictate your plumbing choices and finishes. If you have the time, I would go to one of those big plumbing stores that have people who specialize in this, pick their brains, see what they suggest and which gold finishes are available in those styles. You don’t have to buy from them but it’s nice to have the perspective of a professional. Best of luck!

IMO first decide how important all matching metal will be in your space . We see on a daily basis home owners here now trying to match all the stuff in a bathroom with not much luck. I still think chrome is timeless and easily matched to all other chromes . I have no idea why the style of your home dictates the style of plumbing choices . I do not even think the inside of your home needs to the same style as the exterior . I think the gold thing will be a dated look soon and as for brass it has also been around a long time but now so many different finishes of brass it goes back to my original statement how important is matching to you.

Thank you all. I did go look at a showroom to see it in person. Right now we are looking at Kohler’s brass color (really a gold color, but I can’t find a truer brass color in a reliable shower brand) for our master shower. I’m trying to meet functionality & reliability of the shower with brass color, it is challenging!

I don’t like mixing metals in one room but to offset the cost we will likely go with chrome plumbing fixtures in our secondary bathrooms.
