I would do B. Leave the recessed door as it is and add on portico.

That's a craftsman portico on a ranch, which is more mid-mod than classic. It's too big for your house and doesn't enhance it at all, IMO.

Almost all the windows have been changed in the rendering to make it work, which is a big red flag that it isn't going to work.

Do Nothing.

B will not work with your current home as the windows encroach to much. I would build the door out flat to the front of the house and put on a properly sized portico if the window locations allow it. We also have no idea what this will do to the interior layout and if it will even be possible.

I prefer without the portico, you recessed door looks nice.

Good catch on the windows on the render, I was too distracted by the giant pediment. Lisa are all the windows changing?

The first sounds expensive and I wonder given the proximity of the window on the left being so close (and hard to tell if entrance is centered), the portico may not work very well.

Consider adding a nicer door with a window and even side lights if financially/structurally possible + lighting. Your entrance will feel more welcoming/have a lighter, more custom feel without a big investment.

Keep what you have. Add two large black narrow pots filled with red flowers on each side of the door for color.

The windows' size and location will stay the same, though we will remove the shutters to see how the house looks and possibly replace the windows and door with a single-light design without a grille.

I am trying unsuccessfully to render a picture of my home with these portico details: the stone should be brick, Doric columns, shallower roof pitch. Keep the recessed door.

Single lite

Glass door with side lights sounds fantastic. We have a contractor coming over tomorrow. We'll get estimates for upgraded entrance and door as well as portico.
