I made one many years ago using the traditional method. It was king size. I used pretty heavy fabrics for the background squares and unfortunately it came apart in the wash. I’ve never been tempted to try it again.

Oh no, Donna! That's awful! A king-size? That was a TON of work, how heart breaking!

I have already ruled out the traditional method where the windows "float" above the background. I don't have much patience for handwork when there is a machine option, not to mention my handwork is pretty poor.

I have never made one either. I have looked at the instructions and ’backed away’ . There are patterns that catch my eye but I am realistic enough to know when to move on. One pattern that intrigues me is Pineapple. I even bought the ruler to go with the booklet pattern., long ago. I may try Bonnie Hunter’s version. It looks a tad less complicated.
