ideas for TV fireplace wall

We are considering purchasing this property. This “built in” was presumably for a tv and stuff. Flanked on either side are fronted glass windows with a four season porch on the other side. Assume the purpose was to add light. The living area has good light. Not opposed to this but want it to look better,

What we would like to achieve is a fireplace ( linear.. electric or gas) with TV above and an attractive wall.. stone, brick, wood, something.. Ideas appreciated. Simple clean lines?

The attached photos show “the wall”, and additional photos show the room behind it. Simple is fine. Also wonder about a two sided fireplace. Gas in house. Bit would need ventless I believe.

Yes. The light fixtures are hideous. Lots to do.

Better budget or make an offer that reflects the money you will spend to repaint the walls. The walls lean pink in the images.

Here is a linear fireplace with TV above. Recess both items in the wall so the side profile is more attractive.

Decide if you want to incorpoarate a sound bar.

We cannot see the whole room. It looks like you have a large space. Seems all your seating will be squashed over towards the fireplace.
Can you separate the TV from the fireplace? Put the TV on the long wall with sofa facing it?

Renee. Thanks for input. I do NOT have a floor plan. It is a large space and I agree. I need to think outside the builder thought would be good place,met.

Beverly. Appreciate the input. Price and location is good and I have a good sense of $$. Just want to spend wisely. I just realized that just because there is a built in there, that means the TV goes there. So that opens up possibilities. I do have concerns of picking the correct lighting with high ceilings. Obviously.. little fixtures truly do not work. And linear is a challenge w sloped ceilings.

If you are wanting to do a redo, it might be best to look at some different fireplace designs. Are you wanting the TV over the fireplace? You might do a fireplace in the niche area and then do a TV on the blank wall to the right of where the fireplace will be. I think move in then post a to scale floor plan with pics of any pieces you are using Is this the only space for a TV to start . I do not like TV in my LR . Do you love the seperate porch for instance and how do you plan to use it? So many things are only decided after move in

IMO, over the fireplace is the worst place for a tv. Both are room focal points and don’t belong in the same spot as they highly different from each other. Plus, usually a tv over a fireplace is too high for comfortable viewing.

Consider how you will use the room and what furniture you will have.

Make sure the ventless fireplace can be vented to an outside wall.
