Shower Tile Selection

I need help choosing wall tile size for a 3’x4’8” shower with 7’6” ceiling height. I chose a 3” x12” subway tile with matching grout that I now think may be too large. I also m considering taking the tile all the way up to the ceiling. Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Context is key. Show the tile. Show the bathroom as the tile needs to work well with the balance of the room.

I agree we need some context but that size tile wiil have no end of issues with install and looks too many grout lines and what are the other finishes in the space ? The cances of finding the same tile now could be an issue too the dye lots have to match.

An important thing to remember is the smaller the tile, the more grout lines you will have to clean.

Agree with others. The smaller the tile, the more grout lines you will have. A smaller tile would be better suited for an accent border.
