JSI Cabinets vs Fabuwood

Hello,

My fiance and I are stuck on what cabinet brand we want to go with for our large kitchen remodel. Our contractor has 2 brands that we’re deciding between, JSI and Fabuwood.

JSI will be $23,000 after install and Fabuwood is $31,000.

Its hard to tell the difference between the two since they have a lot of similarities.

Such as:

1/2" Plywood Sides

Solid Wood Corner Blocks

3/4" Solid Wood Dovetail Drawer

soft close everything

Neither. Both are low end stock imports. Apartment level. Not really suitable to a nice large mid grade kitchen.

What are your goals for the remodel?

We've done two kitchen remodels, and in both cases, a primary goal was to increase storage space. We went with custom cabinets (locally made), so we could maximize drawer and cabinet dimensions without fillers. We were also able to specify everything - like how deep the bottom drawers are, to accommodate things like small appliances in one, and cake pans stored on their sides in another. In both cases they custom mixed the stain for us (cabinets are oak).

We did a bathroom vanity with Fabuwood and friend did their kitchen. No issues.Friens life venin meddle/ upper class town.

Not everyone can afford high end.

You might look into KraftMaid cabinets. We ordered them from Home Depot but had our own installer.This was for a rental property.

However, you need to be knowledgeable to double-check. We found a small error that easily corrected.

The cabinets come directly from KraftMaid. All came perfect!
