Sorry not sure what exactly you want form us . I am still trying to figure out how a foot got to the ceiling . I see a ton of clutter but I have no idea of why the ceiling needs a new color? I usually like wall color for the ceiling . Dark wall color????? What is the new light like ? I am a bit confused as to what you really need since the wall color stays for me just do that for the ceilings

Feet go through the ceiling quite often when workers are in the attic trying to get around balancing on framing. One wrong step and the foot goes through the ceiling below. It happened to my parents 40 year ago when they were having some remodeling done.

When we built we had sheets of plywood put down in the sections that workers would need to access in the attic, to try to reduce the chances of a foot going through the ceilings in the future.

I would paint the ceilings in the same white as your trim, but in a flat finish.

Same white as the trim or the same wall color that you love.

I can’t match the ceiling color. An a/c tech slipped and put a foot through my ceiling which was painted with a color I no longer have anywhere in my house. The walls are now a DIFFERENT color, trim is the same, and I just did some samples of the potential ceiling colors. The question is whether to go a touch darker than the walls (by using Soft Chamois), the same as the trim (White Dove) or lighter than the White Dove trim (with

Chantilly Lace) on my ceiling. To take out the real life mid reno clutter, what you see here is White Dove (left), Soft Chamois (center), and Chantilly Lace (right). This pic is taken in natural daylight, southern facing room on a cloudy morning. The thought is to make the trim in my formal areas pop (but also keep the ceilings uniform in color throughout the house). That is why I am leaning towards lighter or darker than the trim.

Ceilings and trim don't need to "pop". For ease and consistency just do it in the same White Dove as the trim, but in flat. It will look slightly different than the trim due to different plane and finish.

If you go with a brighter white ceiling, it might make your White Dove trim look dirty/dingy, depending on the lighting in the spaces.

LisaDV - Thanks for cleaning up my space! I do have a new light fixture that will be going up. It is the Savoy House Palladian 5 Light 38 inch Warm Brass Linear Chandelier Ceiling Light, Essentials. I chose the warm brass to go with my hardware on the cabinets. Little by little bringing in some more transitional touches. Also going to paint the counter stools, probably also white dove.

Along with the others I would choose color of your trim in a flat finish for the ceiling. White ceilings just look a lot brighter, especially for a kitchen.

Patricia, its easy to go through a ceiling. I managed to do that when I was 8 yrs old at a friends birthday party and they were working on their house. I ended up on the kitchen counter right below me.
