Will two 22” pendants over a 10’ island work?

last year

I’ve read through other similar posts, but situations didn’t seem to mine. I’m building and have a very large open concept with living area, dining area and kitchen in a row. Ceilings are vaulted at 19’. The DR pendant is thin and linear (photo included)so as not to block the view from the kitchen to the LR and to the view. I want the pendants over the island to have some presence. I’ve picked out 2 different one that are both about 22” wide and 24” in height. I think 3 would be too many, but will 2 be enough? The house will be bright with many windows. I’m including a photos of the lights and my inspiration kitchen I found on Houzz. The colors in the house will be wood with black and accents. The island will be the same wood as the backsplash. A little contemporary but not modern.

Which one is the dining room pic you included? All four look like kitchens to me. Or the last pic is the kind of light in the DR, but not a photo of your DR? I like that last one. How does it hang? The pic has white lines drawn in, but I imagine the real thing hanging looks different. Of the two pics with the big round lights, I like the first one better, the scale on the lights photoshopped in and the shape looks better. The second one is just not right. Looks like the lights are swallowing the room. I think the person overscaled a little light to photoshop in there.

Beesneeds… the long linear one will be over the dining table which will be next to the island. there are no photos yet, as we are just laying the subfloor. The white lines you see are clear cables that essentially disappear in the air. The company will wire to my needs for the 19’ ceiling which is sloped.

The island photos are GROSSLY blown up in the photos! These companies are like strutting peacocks! Although they are both the same size, the one with the mesh feels a bit whimpy when imhold it over my current island and 11’ ceilings and the black ones become more of a punch. These will be the drama in the large three ”room” space. As i have an amazing view through the LR I’m trying not to block it! I’ll hang the island ones a little higher than i would typically in order to fill the space a bit and not block the view.

Ok. Without any photos of the space to refrence, and knowing the photos in the OP aren't right... I would say the first set of round ones look more like the horozontal one. I really couldn't tell you how they would actually illuminate an area or if it would work with your island or not. Not sure if size wise the pendants would work with the horozontal one.
