New custom construction on the water with mostly 10 ft ceilings and you are doing 6'8" doors. You are not getting good design advice. I hope your window aren't too short/small for the ceiling heights too?

A, but not knowing the size of your counter I might prefer just one under mount sink than two.

True, it could be 28x80 inches or 2'8" x 8'0". I have seen it both ways, so you definitely want to check.

In Option A, that is an atrium door? So a person standing at or sitting on the toilet will be smack dab in front of that door? I know it will have a blind or something on it, but still, seems very exposed.

I like the flow of Option B better, but I wonder where the bathing/showering person’s towel will be?

Why does that bathroom need two sinks? I don’t imagine two guests in there at the same time unless it’s a parent and young child.

Good point about the atrium door. We just ordered our exterior doors and ordered that one with frosted glass.

I agree, we don't need two sinks. This will be my husband's primary bathroom, and used by the occasional guest. I will change it back to a single sink.

Frosted glass isn’t completely private. How close will the neighbors on that side be? What else is on your deck there?

Hi, There are trees and plants between us and our neighbor. That door is to the deck (our architect calls it an ”atrium”; it is a deck 10’ - 12’ off the ground, so no one will be walking by). Our generator, condenser, and tankless water heater will be on the deck in that area.

B but with one sink so there is ample counter space. You could put a single hook on the wall at the end of the tub/shower unit.

I liked PPF.'s solution from the first discussion much better because it only had one entry to the bathroom, yet still provided easy access to the shower deck. With two entrances into a bathroom unavoidably both doors will be locked and only one door unlocked.

The layout could have been better designed to accommodate husband's outdoor shower insistence. The current arrangement seems to be a "we'll make do" compromise.

Is it that the door can not be relocated or is it someon just does not want to relocate it?

I agree, I like PPF’s design, as well. However, since I need to keep the deck ”atrium” door where it is, I am trying to make it work. i don’t need a large pantry, so I can take room from there.

Hi Mark,

Construction is moving along quickly. Our first level floors are going up. I don’t want to try to change the door so late. I don’t know if trusses are involved.

Sometimes when you ask a simple question you can get surprised. Show the builder the better layaout and ask if the door can be moved to allow for the better design.
