We have a 1950s split level home. And have repainted recently. I realize the technical architectural advice is to only use shutters when they can look like they are actually functional. But they’re used decoratively all around my neighborhood and generally look good, so I’m keeping them on my house now that we’ve repainted. We had louvered style shutters when we move in. I’m thinking about updating them to flat panel? Thoughts? Could I do anything more interesting like an offset panel? I don’t think our house is the right style for board and batten. Thanks!!
