kitchen renovation.

last year

When I was doing research I loved seeing other kitchens with materials I was thinking in using in mine. So here is my contribution.
Our kitchen was just finished. We did Taj Mahal countertops and backsplash. Our fabricators gave us a lazy Susan and an extra square piece. There are lights and all the outlets under cabinets. The cabinets are an off white, very light cream color. Appliances are Bosch and chandeliers are PB. Floors are porcelain tiles with texture.
Ask me any questions.

We also decided on Breville countertop 3 in 1 microwave. It’s a microwave, convection oven and an air fryer all in one. I really wanted a second oven since I host all the holidays. Having all on one saves cabinet space and the need for extra appliances.

Your kitchen is beautiful but I do find the backsplash distracting. My eyes are drawn to the backsplash instead of the cabinetry.

So this is exactly what I just posted about, using the taj as backsplash! Our kitchen is very similar to yours. Looks like you didn't go up over the top of the window. Our contractor said we should consider that but I'm torn! I think it might be too much??? Do you have a better view of the window area? Thanks so much!!!

Kudos to your Taj Mahal choice AND especially to your fabricator who installed it.

I had to really search for a seam on the backsplash and I have eagle eyes! HAHA! Care to disclose the secret?

I love that you put the interesting part of the slab with the veining all on the hood wall.

I also love your glamorous pendant lights!

Oh and I just noticed the under cabinet outlets verses on the back splash. I like that they are hidden, especially where you won’t normally have things plugged in all the time. Are they angled or flat? Maybe explain about that?

Also, can you add some more pictures taken from further back showing the whole layout space? I sort of see legs of bar stools but not sure.

Rebunk- I went to the fabricators and spent time choosing where they were going to make the cuts on the 2 slabs we got. They were so nice and really put the effort into working with me on my vision. We tried our best to match and make the countertops flow into the backsplash. The first piece was the backsplash behind the range and everything else followed from there. I think there are computer programs that can be used for this but we used old fashioned painters tape and sectioned off the pieces we needed. Pic below. I used PA granite in Philly if anyone wants to know.

These are the lights and outlets under the cabinets. I have 21 outlets total, including a regular style one under the peninsula. Our electrician encases the light to avoid little dots of light on the countertop.

    It’s a small kitchen. I think it’s 15ft by 11ft

Chris T - I have had the range for about 3 weeks now. So far I loved it very much. The main complaint online is the fan being loud and that is not my experience at all. Maybe people are more sensitive to sound but I don’t even notice it’s on most of the time. The induction cooktop is really awesome and the convection oven works amazing. I am convinced it takes less time to bake stuff now.

Hey, Iona thanks for the pics of the window. So funny our kitchens are so similar. Can you tell me what color paint you used for walls! Yeah, I wanna copy you because I like it!!!!

Hi Sammi, it’s shoji white from Sherwin Williams. We did color drenching, same color for ceiling walls and trim. The ceiling is mate, I thjnk. Whatever finish is used for ceilings, the walls are eggshy

Mary it’s the 3 in 1 combi wave. It’s a microwave, a convection oven and an air fryer. I love it
