Do you have wood shingles on the mansard part of the roof? If so, I'd paint them a cream color, and the wood under the windows. If it's roof shingles, I'd replace with painted wood shingle siding. We have a bunch of houses with mansard roof around here, mostly old Victorian, when the vertical part of the roof is the original decorative slate, it looks good. When that's replaced with asphalt shingles, it looks bad. When they replace the vertical point with painted siding, it's much better than the roofing shingles.
