More leftover yarn. The pattern looked better on line...it was just ok though, and slow to work on as it was all SC and HDC so not as fast as other patterns. But I think it came out nice... I like the colors. But I don't think it's one I will repeat. Next time, I'll make the stripes fatter so there are fewer ends to weave in.

Next up, our town's buy nothing forum had an afghan and yarn that her MIL started, but with her dementia, is unable to finish. So once I figure out the pattern, I'll finish it for her.

Another lovely project. i'm sure the recipient(s) will be thrilled.

Annie mentioned that she will attempt to finish someone's yarn project. There is an organization which does that for families who have inherited unfinished projects of loved ones who are no longer alive or able to complete them, called Loose Ends.

Nice! I lay the ends along the top of the next row and crochet over them to avoid weaving in ends ;-)

If you post a picture of the unfinished afghan perhaps some of us could help work out the stitch.

Thanks colleen, but I think I've got the pattern...it's just a tad wonky when I count her stitches...doesn't always seem to be consistent. It's a basic ripple pattern, but a very mild one. She also wound 2 separate yarns together into balls to make the color pattern. Not sure why.....that would seem like more work. She included the hook, but I'm sure it wasn't the right one...it was like an H hook, but the practicing I did with it with the double strands looks like an N hook will do it for me.
