Looking for dining chairs, what would you choose? Comfortable, sturdy, modern, leather, etc

You have enough leather in your space already. The room around your table doesn't seem all that big. I'd get something with open lines so the space doesn't get too crowded and so you can see through to the nice wood on the table.

I love black, but it is getting a bit too heavy in your space, especially considering the openness and views. But a bit of the outdoors in with some deep green or off white. Might be hard to get wood the right tone, but I'd give it a try.

Do you think these would overpower?

Do you think these would overpower? Or, these?

Black steel wire chair. A contoured seat would be more comfortable.

I don't love the leather ones because you can't see through the back of them, so it will appear that the table is being surrounded by leather. If you can find leather chairs with open backs I think it can work.

The grey upholstered ones seem so chunky. What are the measurements between your table and whatever else is behind it on each side and to the sides of it?

Do you want 4 or 6 chairs?

    I loved

I loved the look of the first picture you added. A bit pricy, I was hoping to keep it below $400 (Canadian). 4 or 6 depending on the size. Definitely 4 if the back is solid. Comfortable is important

Nothing beats a Windsor chair. We have had 6 for our wood farmhouse table for 20 years. They come in many styles but are extremely comfortable and durable. I add pads that tie on for more comfort.

I would want something very simple like Kendrah posted. Why have a live edge table just to hide it behind the chairs.

Watch for used chairs for sale. So many people have gotten rid of formal dining spaces and are getting rid of extras. I have bought extras so I have enough for bigger dinner parties and got mid century teak chairs for almost nothing. If you watch etsy you find the chairs that people know are MCM Teak and worth something - FB marketplace, craigslist . . . you can find real bargains. We also have a couple of used furniture stores that pull inventory from estates and the elderly that are downsizing. You can get a table and 6 chairs in your budget.

I would also look at flea markets, yard sales, etc. We have a ton of estate sales here but I have found that when they are run professionally, there are no bargains.

If you find more traditional wood dining room chairs that seem too formal, you can paint them. I did that with the formal chairs my sister decided were now mine (from my grandmother) when she downsized. I had them chalk painted to match the painted round table I found and they look great.

    Here are the chairs.

Our estate sales cost a lot - but the two furniture stores go out and grab the leftovers - anything that didn't sell. They also pick up bigger items left over from a move.
