Is this too much teal?

We have a teal sideboard in our foyer off dining room. Trying to decide between these two looks. House is a Mediterranean style outside. Coastal-ish inside. There is a mrror in adjacent foyer. TIAEdit: Here is the other art in the room. It will be lowered. Church pew to be replaced with a gray console table. The rest of the furniture is gray. The teal piece is our "pop" of color.Included pic without lamps.
EDIT: Thank you everyone for your responses. You have been extremely helpful.

I assume you mean the teal in the art. I do not like the lamps for sure , nothing there says coastal to me but I think the art in the top pic suits the sidboard style better .with maybe one shorter piece on one side of the sidboard . Hvae you tried the other piece sidweays.

Is there anything else teal-colored in the room? I like the second one better, but that's just my opinion. Either one would work, but I agree that they should be mounted horizontally

I love the doorway painting above the sideboard. Agree that you dont need the lamps.

What is the rest of your decor like? Does the teal sideboard coordinate with the rest of the room?

Use only one shorter lamp to one side and make it something interesting. The shell might be too big to pair with it.

The large art overwhelms the sideboard. The doorway is homey for a foyer. The sidelamps crowd the artwork so if you want two sidelamps or sconces get a vertical frame.

With the art in the DR, I think the new art would be too much of the same. I would keep the art with the door and either no lamps or just one.

Not sure why you started a new thread?

Your other recent thread about the dining room that is open to the foyer with this sideboard had some good photos of the overall area. I think the teal sideboard is nice with either art work (no lamps) in the foyer/DR area as the area is neutral with teal only in this sideboard, art over the bench (which you are replacing) and the teal table runner.

Consider sconces or buffet lilghts for this cabinet that is so short in length.

I think the art is the PERFECT SELECTION!!

You don't have a teal cabinet. It's just a shade of blue.

It looks like I'm alone on this but I love the abstract painting. It's sophisticated and dramatic, and I think it will work better with the dining room than the door photograph does. I also like the scale, the way it fill the vertical space on your wall.

Mcarroll16, I usually am not fond of abstract paintings but the color in that one fits the sideboard best and echoes the seascape in the dining room. Both paintings work well, it's just a choice of style modern abstract versus classic realism.

As for those paint chips I would call the top one Turquoise not Teal but the sideboard is definitely in that blue-green color family. It looks like Gina has varied the shades and tints of blue green so they flow well through the adjoining spaces. So it's not too much Teal.

I like the formal symmetry of Bev's lamp choices but the abstract painting and a sculptural modern lamp to one side with the shell and or plant balancing it on the other side might work. Is there a pendant or other light in the foyer.? If so you may not need a lamp there.

Weird Houzz glitch, I couldn't see Beverly's comment when I made mine. I like Beverly's sconce mockup but I also like kathleen MK's suggestion of one lamp plus plant or sculptural object to balance. Even one lamp really crowds the door picture. The abstract is strong enough to hold its own with a lamp there.
