MDF exposure?? Freaking out

im probably being paranoid but i have two areas in my hpuse im

concerned about. first photo is my daugthers bed. got damaged during our move. second is

a cabinet in my kitchen. i recently came to learn about MDF and the danger of off gassing and dust particles. now im in a panic that my family has been put in danger. i understand the danger of the dust is when machining/cutting it but still comcerend as these fibers look very loose and im assuming are still causing the dust. help!

I have extreme allergic reactions to off gassing materials and to dust. And, I still think you are ok. Paint will create a protective coating and encapsulate the material. If you don't have the time or ability to paint over it for a while, then slap some masking tape on it until you get around to it. It will keep the particles in place and keep them from coming apart and leaving dust around.

If one is allergic to dust,pollen or other airborne particles the most effective thing to do is use Merv 8 or higher filters in hvac.
