LR Area Rug - Seeking Friendly Advice

Please don’t ignore my question to suggest an expensive or unrelated project/change.

Seeking feedback/recommendations on LR rug size / design?

Context: Was waiting to replace one couch 1st, however that won’t happen for some time, and we need a rug!

We’ll likely buy a similar colored/design couch (4 seater instead of 3)
Our style is minimalist / natural / balanced, happy letting picture windows shine
In the photos, the space and a small 8x5 ft rug, similar style rug we’d buy (Jute Rug, similar colors too)
Rug will be custom

Why don’t you place some masking tape on the floor to represent the different sizes and arrange furniture upon each. Walk and “live” the various sizes to determine what’s best.

Consider multiple, identical rugs. Check Home Goods offerings, frequently they have multiples. Or, consider regular carpet but have it bound for your perfect size.

The toy pump thing on the floor gives a sense for how far the corner of the rug would extend if 16ft, which is why I’m thinking 17 ft instead…

Re: “multiple rugs” wouldn’t that look odd to have two identical rugs next to eachother, you’d see the seam?

@zach - it probably would look odd but you’re considering non-standard size(s) and I was thinking budget.

Unsure why it was so inexpensive, but found this 8x16 rug (in quartz) for only $375 that’s not very different than what we were going for!
