what kind of laminate flooring, the look of a wood tone? tile? Is the kitchen open to another room? natural light? wall color?

Wood tones, lots of natural light, and open concept. I will choose my paint once I have chosen my floors.

I have been shopping my local stores so much, I think they might be tired of me. LOL

At the Home Depot you have to sign a release form if you want laminate installed in a kitchen. They do not recommend it. Too many issues with water penetration ruining the floors.

Porcelain tile that has a 'wood look' is a better choice for kitchens.

Real hardwood--oak is classic and will last forever. This would be the look--very beautiful.

I had laminate flooring in my cherry kitchen many years ago. I'd never do it again. Not only does it sound hollow and plastic when you walk on it, I had to remove it after water damage--it buckled and was ruined. Interesting that HD doesn't recommend it--it was all the rage back then. Everyone wanted it, but like so many new trends that everyone extols as bullet-proof and long-lasting, it seems to have fallen out of favor. And for good reason.
