Entryway Help Please

Appreciate recommendations for a floor covering for this entryway - looking for something other than a traditional rectangular long runner- if there is anything else that would work here? Does it look too bare uncovered? We do not use the door in the photo very often. Thank you!

I like how it looks currently.

You may want something right by the front door in order to catch small pebbles on people's shoes when they enter your home in order to cut down on scratches on your floor.

I agree just something by the door, you don't need anything in the long area.

Seems naked to me. I'd get a jute or sisal rug. No patterns, just texture. Doens't need to cover the long part of the hallway.

Team ”leave it.” You have a beautiful floor. I agree to just a small rug near the door.

    Some thoughts about your entryway:

--Relocate the demi-lune table so the eye is drawn to the fireplace. (Would love to see a gorgeous vertical skyscape above that fireplace instead of decor item. Your small mantel items just disappear when you have so much vertical space.) The little table creates an obstacle in the path which should pull someone toward the living room.

Notice how this clear entryway directs the eye all the way to the windows and elegant living room

This idea though not this style:

I love it without any rug, especially since it's a lightly used entry. I would have a good-sized welcome mat on the porch for wiping shoes before entry.

Thank you very for these great ideas!

You have a beautiful entryway; lovely home, nice flooring. I like it “as is”. My decorating philosophy: "less is more".

LOVE your floor, and the entire foyer/entryway is fine as is, especially since you don't use that entrance much. Little rugs just clutter up the space, and can be a pain when vaccuuming.

I think either or on the placement of the table and bench. That walkway does not need something on both sides. The table needs a new home. I would move the dried floral arrangement or live plant to the corner as you come down the stairs. Rugs at door entrances help keep the dirt from shoes from spreading all over the home.
