Change the brown trim around doors/windows to a white that matches the windows.

Those corner-boards should be the same color as the siding.

    Keep it simple.

Painting? or changing the style of the siding?

I would paint it dark, although neither of these house styles are yours, a dark, rich color would be a great change for a rural setting.

What style overall are you leaning towards and do you prefer light, medium or dark siding. If you have saved pictures of homes you like, can you provide. There are so many options.

Maybe consider adding two finishes to give more depth and interest. Be sure to complement the shingles and bring attention to your front door.

Huge commitment and suggest getting a sample of your weathered wood shingles (looks like they come in different shades based on the company). Look on line at homes with your color of shingles to help you decide.

Here are some combinations from light to dark.

I think the strong contrast between the brown trim and pale yellow siding is too much. I'd paint the trim a much lighter color. For something unusual and striking, you could do a sunny yellow or peach. But a much lighter brown would do, too. Or a creamy white. I'd do you door in peach. You can go anywhere from bright to muted, pale to dark.

I love the last house that maureen posted ,the deep blue.I also like white that is the color it orginally was years ago before we moved here .I have to take all of my barns into consideration too because this is a farm.Barns are stone color with brown accents.I’ll try and post some pics of them when i can.
