baseboard repair suggestions

We just took down a wall and have to repair the gaps in the baseboard where the wall once was. Any suggestion the best way to do this? Is it necessary to replace the entire length of the baseboard? The entire length is about 22 feet. Like to get some ideas before the contacting someone to do it. We are getting the floor person to replace the missing plank. Thanks for all your inputs!

You should be able to have the guy who is putting the board in to add a piece of baseboard in that spot - use caulk to make it look good + paint. Should be able to disguise that it's a separate little piece there.

For the best fix, remove both pieces and replace. Can you source an exact match for the base?

Double no to caulking in a short piece.

If you can’t find matching baseboard, and don’t have the tools to cut and shape a short piece of wood to match, and can’t find any other solution, you can use Abatron which is an epoxy used to fill and restore wood that has been rotted or otherwise lost big chunks - typically used for restoring architectural details in older buildings.
