The first Grandma's Smile seedling is a bitone? It does look promising, though parent GS was always short-scaped here. Well, blooming barely above the foliage.

Love the Grandmas Smile seedling, a great looking bitone. I also love the green accent on Fancy Lace. I have had some pale blooms too.

It was overcast here too for a while, but then the sun came out. We tried to do some hybridizing but I doubt many pods will set.

I really like the Diver Down seedling as well as the Red Venom seedling. I also like the Dancing Flamingo as well as the Grandma's Smile seedling.

You got some good shots today!! The Diver Down seedling is very pretty as is the Red Venom. Ruth certainly is pale in the heat (so am I!!) and it is good to see Memphis in your garden! I always liked the look of Porterhouse.

Mantis and Sherry - The first Grandma's Smile seedling is not normally a bitone. The heat has bleached the sepals. An evergreen, it has pretty good height. The scapes are 27 inches tall, compared to 29-30 inches tall in Nashville. Mantis, Grandma's Smile, was never the registered 30 inches for me in Nashville. Scapes usually ranged from 24-26 inches. As long as the blooms were above the foliage, I didn't have a problem with it.

Nancy G. and Nan - My red seedlings hold their color in the heat. I think they look better here than in Nashville.

Kate - Memphis is another evergreen that is doing well here. The scapes are nice and tall, probably not the 31 inches in the registration, but not far off.

Pink Flamingo is pretty and I like your Diver Down red seedling.......You know what a pink fan I am, but how many pale pinks can you have in the garden? The sun does do a number on that color.............Maryl

Maryl - I have more pinks than anything else now. Not all of them are pale pinks though.

Your Pink Flamingo is always so pretty. More than mine ever are. Porterhouse is a pretty red. Of course I like both your Red Venom and your Diver Down seedlings. Blazing Saddles is always a looker. Even though Bubblegum Queen was light, the shot of the three blooming together was very pretty. And just for a by the way, Dearest Valentine has had susch a good year. It rebloomed twice and the blooms have bee perfect.
