Pink Extraordinaire X $exy Samantha is really pretty. I like Roman Cohort X The Ultimate Sacrifice . Pretty watermark. Fighting Fire X (Insider Trading X The Ultimate Sacrifice) is a nice red. I always love Mr Mayor but the others are very pretty.

I love you seedlings. Are these ones you brought from Nashville? They really are loving your new garden. Fancy Lace I had to go and look up. I see photos of it being yellow although some had pics of a whiter verison. Stamile listed it as near white. Your photo defnitely looks white to me. Nice!

Geez, black flies and tiny bees are not something I would not want. I do have bumble bees but they don't bother me and the yellow jackets seem to be little this year along with wasps so far.

I have tiny bees I have always heard called as ”sweat bees”. They can be aggressive as well. But it’s mosquitos after all the rain we have had that have plagued me.

The seedlings are looking very good. It’s good to see Pink Extraordinaire seedling with that pretty ruffling. Fancy Lace is looking to hold true to name.

Julia - Yes, the seedlings are some of the ones I brought from Nashville. Fancy Lace sometimes looks very light yellow, and other times almost white. Deep Woods Off seems to keep most of the bugs away, but I hate the smell of it, and my cat won't come near me when I wear it.

Kate - The bees I have are smaller than sweat bees. Strangely enough, I haven't seen many mosquitoes.

More great blooms today. We have those tiny black beetles here. They do bite occasionally but have never noticed any plant damage from them. Your pink seedlings are always do nice….Memphis is looking good in Indy

Beautiful? I like the Pink Extraordinaire and Fighting Fire seedlings. Is Fancy Lace as white as it appears in photos? Whether it is or not, it is a beautiful flower.

Make It Snappy draws my attention because of the large center. Sure stands out....Fancy Lace sure is pretty............Maryl

Nan - Fancy Lace is probably not as white as it appears in this photo. But it is much closer to white than yellow, which it looked on the first few blooms. It does look white in the shade, and shade photos make near whites look lighter than they really are.

Maryl - Make It Snappy does have a more dramatic throat than Mister Mayor.

Sherry - The small black beetles here always bite me, and they do seem to be doing damage to the blooms - not as extensive as thrips or earwigs but they leave lots of small spots.

My Fancy Lace looked more white on rebloom, but definitely whiter than any edged daylily I have. I had hopes of Whirling White being actually white, but not really. I got Mister Mayor and Make it Snappy at the same time and planted them close together. At that time, they looked almost identical, a very slight difference in color and eye, but you had to squint to see it. When I lost Mister Mayor and Debra kindly sent me some to replace it, I put it in a different location, and now there is a much more noticable difference. Make it Snappy gets more shade now. Pink Extraordinaire X $exy Samantha is gorgeous, love that bloom. Your reds are so nice too. Do they ever splotch up?

Nancy G. - I think Fancy Lace is pretty white as near whites go. It's got some very light pink and yellow undertones. With rain, bugs and heavey dew, yes those reds can splotch. I would say almost a third of the blooms on the Roman Cohort seedling have splotched. As you can see from the picture above, the Fighting Fire seedling bloom on the right has some splotching on the sepal. The rest of the imperfections are small and are bud damage. Overall I've had more spotting and splotching here than I ever had in Nashville. Daylilies that never splotched did splotch here.

Yes, we had a lot of rain too, but it is so hot again that I am already watering annuals. Make It Snappy is a bigger plant here, with blooms that have wider segments. $exy has certainly produced a lot of nice seedlings for you, but are they multiplying well?

Mantis - Both Pink Extraordinaire X $exy Samantha seedlings increased by a couple of fans over the winter, which surprised me since both are evergreen and neither is planted in a protected place. In Nashville, both usually doubled in fans each year. We'll have to see how they do in the future. I have nine fans of the one shown above, and six fans of the purple sibling. Here foliage on Make It Snappy and Mister Mayor is almost identical this year. Make It Snappy gets shaded out by the gigantic Miss Goldie Gold Digger though, and I'll probably have to move it by next year.
