Looking for Light Wall Color to complement BM Super White Trim???

Love our abundant trees, but trying to lighten up the inside! Previously painted our oak trim and doors BM Super White, which we love. Just installed 6 Sun tunnels and changed light bulbs to 3500-4000K. Considered doing the walls in flat or matte Super White, but think I’d like a bit more contrast. We are eliminating the yellow in kitchen. But I believe to replace it with current BM Edgecomb Grey (which is on adjoining kitchen wall and in living room would be too dark). BM Revere Pewter is in the sunroom. I enjoy the colors were have but need some that will reflect more light but have a bit of contrast.

Any color suggestions to evaluate would be appreciated. I know it’s tricky to combine whites without them being the same.

I love BM Healing Aloe cut up to 50% for just a hint of color but lighting is how you brighten a space the LED choice is good but more lighting is the real answer maybe a floor lamp or two. All your large items are dark so maybe as time goes on and you need new get lighter colored stuff. Add 2 pendants LED 4000K in the kitchen over the island and some under cabinet lighting too. IN the room with the FP some table lamps I do not see the DR but a reall nice chandelier thta lights the space below not the ceiling

1- Sometimes trees and shrubs enthusiastically overgrow the windows- have you looked to see what can be pruned back?

2- It is often much easier to pick out new colors using an inspiration piece such as some of your colorful china and pottery or a patterned chair.

3- Have the walls primed with white primer to avoid casting colorful reflections on test samples. Finalize your color choices after priming.

Thank you! There is a new 5 light chandelier in the eating area of the kitchen & under counter lighting. Initially I took these pictures to show the difference the sun tunnels made, which have helped a great deal. Also added 2 mirrors that can reflect the light coming in . We moved a large walnut armoir downstairs and now have the white entry table & lamp. It’s a great idea to lighten up the dark furniture over time. We were going to paint out the yellow with the Edgecomb Gray, but that corner picture shows that might darken the area. We’ve been chipping away… I’ll check out the Healing Aloe. I’ve also thought about cutting the Edgecomb gray to lighten it up. Thanks so much for your thoughtful response!

You will be surprised how different painting the walls and ceiling the same BM Super White you have on the trim will look in a different sheen.

The shadows in the room will be just what you are looking for, a subtle difference.

I would try painting the ceiling and walls matte/flat and see for yourself.

You can always paint over it if it doesn't give you the results you are after.

Horizon looks like it will work with every thing you have in the room . (except the pink pillows, .bedroom?)

There is lots of brown, so choose some brown accents, like the pillows.

If you don't want to go bright white everywhere, I would try BM White Dove or SW Snowbound. The BM White Dove will have a bit more yellow than the SW Snowbound.

Use the Same white from your trim on the ceilings, in a flat finish.

    Use matte on the walls.

I have BM Chantilly Lace on all my trim, doors and ceilings. Most of my walls are BM White Dove.

You match wall paint to "givens" -- cabinets, floors, then furnishings--then do trim, so you painted out of sequence. All the same, avoid stark white since you have wood floors and a fair amount of dark furniture and wood furniture. You're correct to repaint yellow kitchen--need to go creamy but without yellow.

Here's an article about paints that harmonize with wood features.

I’ve been pulling some paint chips based on people’s input. @Patricia Colwell Consulting do you have a picture of Healing Aloe cut up to 50% on a wall?

No bushes near our windows, we have woods behind our house. We are considering some trimming of trees but most are a good distance from our house.
