The color seems fine but finish seems worn. Is it or is it the effects of pic?. It’s difficult to comment on the effect the door color has without seeing a more complete picture of the front entry of house. I do suggest at least playing up the color by tidying up porch & adding an attention getting door mat with the same color in it. I’d also change the flower pot to one with pizazz & also the same color as the door.

Katie, Your additional picture confirms my first impressions! I do like those black planters but it’d be great if they were door color. I’d fill them with a taller evergreen & bright color flowers. Or, taller & bright flowers only. Don’t know your location or how much heat & sun so no suggestions except fill with color! And, remove the small white pot - looks like a trip hazard & adds nothing. For a rug, I’d get a longer runner type with door color in it. You could use an outdoor rug instead of typical door mat to get the size needed. Since your entry is covered your rug options are more than just a puny door mat!

Another thought - A bigger & bulkier front door handle would be a nice add to replace that small round door knob. It’d be an upscale add. Door handles can have a different style on the inside of the door so that side matches interior hardware of house.

I like the color and you could punch it up by planting matching flowers in your black planters. That said, other colors would look great, too. You can get outdoor runners that might look good in the space. A runner that coordinates with the door and flowers in the planters would be really nice.

I think the runner is beautiful, just not so sure its for your house. I would be looking for one with brighter colors, and more of the color of your door in some of the flowers.

Agree - not bright enough & needs more of door color. The black in design is good to tie in with planters. Look for a non floral design. Also, do check outdoor rugs - even though entry covered, it is outdoors & dirty feet will be on it. Being able to hose off when dirty will be important
