Shiloh Rift Oak Cabinets in Almond

Not 100% installed but couldnt be happier with our choice of color and cabinets. I spent hours on here and social media searching for the “perfect” color wood cabinets for our home that would coordinate with the tone of the floor and achieve the vision in my head. These are exactly what I was looking for.

Learned that it’s important to see them in person too! Luckily our kitchen designer had a vanity in this color/wood species in the showroom so we could see it firsthand.

We have gotten so many compliments on the cabinets already. Time will tell how they hold up but they feel sturdy and well made. Love the “flush” drawers and doors.

We are going with top knobs honey bronze hardware. Our floors are Aquagaurd Canyon Blonde Laminate Plank from Floor & Decor (super affordable). They are beautiful and show as a lighter oak in person. In photographs this flooring picks up on the pink tones a lot but in person it is the perfect light oak I was looking for, with a touch of rustic character.

I chose a polished nickel bridge faucet because I like mixed metals and fell in love with the finish. Hoping I dont regret not getting a more functional faucet with built in sprayer - but I wanted the pretty one.

We are doing a neutral stone backsplash (alamo sandstone ledger from Floor & Decor).

Our farmers sink is cast iron Kohler Westhaven in the color “dune”.

We were unable to secure slabs of taj mahal because it is so popular and we are in a time crunch so we opted for Le Blanc Quartzite instead (to be installed soon).

Just be aware that the "white" and light gray quartzites are not always quartzite, but marble or dolomite. Did you do any of the tests in the old Geology posts by karin_mt to understand what properties your slabs have? A slab might be hard like quartzite, but still porous like marble.

Just shopped for Taj Mahal slabs with a friend in my area of FL and several slab yards each had 3 or 4 different lots of Taj Mahal with 4 to 8 slabs in each lot. There isn't a shortage!

good to know! I was unaware of this so unfortunately we did not test the slab and it’s already a done deal. I will have to check out her post to learn more about that. Had no idea. We shopped for our slab in MA- there is not a shortage, the place we went had hundreds of slabs but they were all spoken for. We could have still got taj mahal I’m sure if we shopped around, and they were willing to call customers to see if they would take their slabs off hold but we just decided against that route as it would take extra time and effort that we didnt plan for. I also figured it was an opportunity to choose something different and more original than taj since it is so popular (although I still love it)

Not sure if that backsplash will be the right fit with that counter. Best to wait on it and test the samples once the tops are in.

Le Blanc quartzite is also known as Mont Blanc. People have had issues with this stone. Hopefully you will have better luck..

Hi, the cabinets are beautiful! In your research, would you say almond is the next shade darker than straw? I want to go just a tad darker than straw but don't want any yellow or gray undertones. Thanks!

I know this post is from a while ago, but I am wondering if you could update and add some finished photos? Our local supplier does not have this color in a sample and it looks slightly different (on same rift white oak) in the online photos. I started this kitchen cabinetry search with a totally different brand, but Shiloh was recommended to me for value. Please share how it has held up since you moved in. Thank you.
