I was all excited to finally have a comfrey plant to make compost tea with. I added comfrey leaves, lovage ( because I have an overabundance of it) and added water to cover and let it sit in a covered bucked for ca 18 days, stirring occasionally.. When I came to pour off the liquid, I found some white stuff floating on top. Fungus ? When I stirred it all it smelled like nasty sewage. Now some folk on youtube did warn of the smell, but, can this be good for the plants? Or could it harm them ? I should mention we just came through a heat wave ( Toronto, Canada), meaning mid 30 degrees C plus humidity factor.
