What wood is this, and what finish was applied to it? Has it held up?

    In this case the client really wanted to use 2x4 cedar decking. A clear finish was applied, but the exact product was sourced by the builder. You might consider a heat treated wood like Lunawood or Kebony for enhanced longevity.

    @Vandervort Architects Thanks for answering the question. Cedar looks great, but it would not hold up in my area from pests over time. The termites here don't care that it's cedar. The thermally modified woods are interesting. I've received several samples from various companies. I can see using them for exterior cladding, or in areas with low traffic and no high heels or gravel for flooring.
