50% Tint Or...?

last year
last modified: last year

My "whole house" color scheme has become (for the most part) SW Colonnade Gray, with Origami White trim. There is a smallish room that I want to paint with a lighter color, to try to prevent it from feeling too cramped. I'm mulling over three options:

1) Get a 50% or 75% or X% tint of Colonnade Gray.

2) Use Origami White for the walls as well as the trim.

3) Use a lighter gray color, like Modern Gray, which I think is from the same family as Colonnade Gray.

For option 1, has anyone done this with Colonnade Gray or a very similar white based color? For option 2, I'm a little afraid the room will look boring/sterile with the walls and trim the same color (though different sheens). And I really can't use a different trim color because this room shares trim with the foyer/hallway that has Origami White trim. For option 3, would Modern Gray look good with Colonnade Gray in the adjacent foyer/hall/rooms? Thoughts? TIA!
