Since we see the stair, we might be able to assume that the stairs are three feet (in my place they are two feet 9'). Based on that assumption, I might assume that the living room is approximately 18' by 14'. You may want to have one 7' couch with the back facing the dining room - with 30" from the back of the couch to the dining room virtual separation. Then get two upholstered chairs on the diagonal on each side of the couch, with 30" gap between couch and chair. Layout is not a perfect science. Put sliders under the furniture so you can move them around and get the best layout.
