We're installing two portables in the basement of a new build, so no need to empty the buckets.

An academic study by Dr. Joe Lstiburek concluded, in part that

"Conventional cooling systems in standard houses usually

provide reasonable humidity control (i.e., below 60% RH) for

summer conditions in warm-humid and mixed-humid

climates."

That you need only drain your portables only weekly indicates there's not much of a humidity problem. We empty two large portables every day in our current "cold climate" home.

There are portable dehumidifiers that have a pump so they can be pumped into a sink. We have the Frigidaire 50 Pint Dehumidifier with Pump. We don't use the pump as there is not a sink where it is placed.

Like Worthy mentioned if you only have to empty it once a week the humidity doesn't sound that high. My main level of my house is where my portable dehumidifier is and I have had to empty it at least once a day lately. My house would stay under the 60% but I can't stand anything over 50% so that is why we have the dehumidifer.

OP could run a Tygon Tubing hose from the dehumidifiers o a single Condensate pump. Discharge the pump up and out over the sill to the the outside world. You wont be using the dehumidifiers in the freezing weather of winter.
